Summer Reading - How to Remember My Book
*This is purely a learning tool for you. You will not be asked to turn anything in. However, you should AT LEAST do this for the books for which you want to be named an expert. Everyone on the team will need to become an expert on two books (you may not get to be the expert on the book you choose).
Directions:
For each book do the following: Then you can review the information before taking the AR test. You will also use this to review the book before the reading bowl test and competition. You can keep this in a notebook (I recommend a composition notebook. The pages don’t fall out as easily).
What to do:
Name/Number of chapter: Chapter One - The Thing that Didn’t Happen
Setting(s): Dollar General parking lot - Lick Log,Kentucky, the Greasy Creek Mobile Home Park, and Buford Timmons Memorial Elementary School.
Characters and interactions (How did they interact with the main character?):
Sally Jo Davis - Gave everyone a popsicle EXCEPT for No-No. She’s was jealous of No-No winning the contest.
Bucky Sweet - Wants No-No to go to the dance with him, but she doesn’t want to go.
Sarah, John, and Dilby - Kids in No-No’s class who are not really important to the story. Sarah loaned No-No a pencil.
Taylor, Millie, Tiffany, and Maxine - Sally’s friends who won’t let No-No play their games or sit with them at lunch. They laugh at everything Sally Jo says.
Molly Anne Thornton - New girl in class. She smiles at Sally Jo.
Events/Plot points of the chapter (tell where it happened):
